why poverty is increasing day by day in India!
Although poverty is the explanation we always hear, there is a different definition of poverty and one which includes different levels of poverty. In many different countries, poverty has been associated with the lack of resources such as clean water, land, and air. There have been many definitions of poverty but all have the same root meaning you cannot afford the basic necessities for survival. In Bangladesh, poverty has numerous definitions: agricultural poverty, natural resources poverty, informal economy, marginalized or socially deprived population, urban poverty, educational poverty, urban poor, etc. When you look at the dictionary definition it says “can give or receive less than is worth or deserved in life, defined as being affected financially by circumstances of scarcity or lacking.”
In Bangladesh, there are approximately 1.3 billion people who are not in possession of all the basic necessities to survive, and those who are are working three jobs to pay their bills and to survive and earn. Although, the resources are not just limited to the natural environment, in Bangladesh if you don’t have enough money for proper shelter and food you are unable to have proper education which can make it very difficult to come out of poverty. There is no way to escape the environment, if you are in the excluded population you have to work the jobs, but you are living in a very small room where less than 300 square feet of living space is mostly filled with sunlight or candlelight. It is dark outside, it’s very hot indoors, which for Bangladesh it is the beginning of a low rainfall season. These are just a few examples and examples of the difficulties of working three jobs. There are many other sources and data, where the data demonstrates that in Bangladesh poverty has been increasing in recent years with still 1.3 billion people in poverty, where, according to MIT 2009 study, poverty in Bangladesh is higher than in 2003. And according to the World Bank poverty has been increasing more than 70% in Bangladesh since 2000. Bangladesh is a country where a large amount of the workforce is engaged in informal labor or in the agriculture sector in Bangladesh, according to the 2011 UNDP Human Development Report, it is estimated that over a million workers on the island of Bangladesh spend their time in agriculture/agriculture based work like plantation, paddy, or organic farming. So, if you are trying to work, to save money, to make a living in Bangladesh or in any country for that matter, in order to get out of poverty, you have to work three or more jobs, which increases the overall rate of poverty for Bangladesh.
Which brings me to the question, how can we and Bangladesh be the solution to ending poverty? However, through a combination of micro-credit lending, local government programs, and first-world education all Bangladeshis can be financially literate or financially literate enough to be able to apply for local government jobs or even to become entrepreneurs. Bangladeshis have been working towards improving the social lives of their children for a very long time, but the main thing is just to use these processes effectively. Also for those who are working three jobs, you need to understand that employment options are greatly limited by the lack of land and large population. Bangladesh is incredibly beautiful, so with proper education and a wealth of natural resources you should be able to live off of it.
