SUCCESSFUL
The ice cream pudding actually made us swear.
It was delicious and delicious.
And we have two words for all our critics:
Omnivore’s
Penodeans, which is a portion over six ounces, was finally a success. I don’t know how my dad came up with the recipe, but he appeared to have just eaten meat pudding during Lent (?) and it inspired him. After a short period of tester review, we decided that the pizza Penodeans were perfectly worth adding to our hot dog dinner.
Our big sausage ball did bite in at the supermarket for the first time during the experiment. I just had to like it for it to make a change. But it would have been nice for it to come flying out of the wall as it did in our first run. Because, by the way, all eggs are kosher.
This time, we took a stab at a Millefiennes. This was one of my dad’s signature dip recipes that he previously sold to unsuspecting friends. In fact, my dad used to brag to my sister and me about selling Millefiennes and telling her his friends that they’d buy them because they’d never ate anything like this.
I couldn’t think of an easier fix for the Millefiennes than throwing all of our meatballs at the pan. And the cheese they held was melting away. And the sauce fell apart. The Wisconsin Wis-mo yogurt didn’t help either. The cheese came crumbling and getting mixed in.
Most disappointing of all, I didn’t like the taste of the Millefie-man. The classic Millefie-man that was out.
We took a couple of steps. We prepped the ground beef, making sure that the product on the box was fresh and well, cut up any extra we felt like putting in. We also cut up the veggies. And voila.
We then placed our protein into a two-layer, putting everything in, including the egg.
And we poured that egg into the pan and melted it, measuring out the desired amount.
As we heated our sausage, we had to make sure that we cooked all of it evenly. We cut the meat off a roll or two and browned each section of the meat. By this point, it was getting brown and juicy, and it was getting nice and brown around the edges.
We then pulled out our sausage balls, put them in the pan, and cooked those all, making sure that we had a good balance of flavors. We then topped that off with our duck fat, onions, tomatoes, and aioli, rice, and jalapeños.
By this point, the sausage balls and chicken were done. We put those into the sauce, and voila!
For a very brief moment, I woke up as our two sisters came in from sleepwalk. As they looked at us, we all almost forgot about the Millefie-man.
And they gave us the best cheers possible, “I LOVE PEPPERONI!”
The Easiest way to try to win our 5-star pizza is to pick up our bigger and mighty sausage ball, which had more spit and goodness.
However, there was no Millefie-man, so I decided to improve my overall command over the toppings.
We tried the Apple and Bacon. But it was definitely bland and without much oomph. So we gave it a thumbs down but did enjoy everything else in it.
Well, with just one take (pun intended), we can reorder the in-box sausage balls and bring a little energy into our lives, not to mention how good it tastes to try to replicate a freaking Millefie-man.
And we now call our non-Millefie-man the Millefie-man, which is also pretty much a hint that there’s no one to beat.
